Something I struggle with for sure is citing sources. It isn’t that I don’t think it’s important or that I just simply don’t, it is more that the entire process is so frustrating and complicated. There are a bunch of different ways you can do it and different styles which means that there isn’t one universal way. However, I kind of wish there was one universal way because then I would know exactly how to do it for every single class. For example, one of the classes I am currently in requires MLA format but another one requires APA. I am constantly having to go to the Purdue Owl website to remember how to perfectly do each one. Its obnoxious. I am constantly left wondering if I am doing it right or not. Put simply, there isn’t any consistency and this is the most frustrating to me. I do think it is very important though. Plagiarism is something we have already talked about a bit in this class and it’s something that should be taken seriously. Without proper citations, you take other people’s words away from them which isn’t right or fair. Citations are necessary, I just wish I knew how to do them better and more importantly, correct.
